Early Army (Heer) Dagger by Alcoso
Just in is this very nice early Army Dagger by Alcoso.
The blade is very nice indeed and shows little wear with a fine tip and the maker mark is the early and rarely seen ACS with scales. This blade has a tapered tang as seen on early examples. Stunning blade!
The grip is again early in that it is a slant variety in yellow solid trolon. There are 2 very small datk lines in the grip but the rest is fine with no chips.
The fittings are correct for Alcoso and the crossguard is the 3rd type used by the maker. The pommel is also the correct Alcoso type. All these fittings are covered in a nice even dark patina.
The scabbard is in great shape and is dent free and is also covered in the same dark patina as the fittings. The throat is retained by 2 side screws.
Overall a fanatstic rare early piece rated Exc +++
Price £495
Army (Heer) Dagger by Carl Eickhorn
The blade remains in great shape with no real issues. There is still crossgrain showing and the Eickhorn maker mark is still nice and crisp.
The grip is orange trolon that has aged with a medium orange to the front and the reverse has a lighter shade, looks really great !! There is one very minor hairline that can be seen near the ferrule ring on the obverse.
The crossguard and pommel are typical Eickhorn examples with the 2nd style crossguard used by Eickhorn. There is some wear to the nickel silver plating on the eagle but not bad.
The scabbard remains in great shape with just a small depression right at the tip that is not really that obvious. The rest is excellent and the thick throat is retained by a rear centre screw.
Overall a great Army dagger rated Exc +
Price £395
Army (Heer) Dagger with Stunning Grip
If you like to collect Army daggers for their grip colours then this could be for you!
The blade is a real beauty. It is a plain no maker blade and there is crossgrain present and a needle sharp tip.
The grip is a real stunner and is very dark orange bordering on red. You do not see them this dark very often. There are 2 very minor chips on the upper contour of one of the thinner segments which I have shown in the pictures. These are very minor but mentioned for accuracy. The rest of the grip is fine with no other chips or hairlines.
The crossguard on this is the 3rd style used by Alcoso and is in great shape with no plating loss. The pommel does not appear to be by Alcoso but fits well and could have been put together in this fashion wartime with it being a plain non maker marked blade.
The scabbard remains in decent shape with no dents and just very minor plating loss on the sides but again not bad. The throat has 2 side screws that are present.
Very nice Army with very nice coloured grip, rated Exc ++
Price £395
NSKK Dagger by G Reinhold Grah, Solingen
Just in is this nice NSKK by G Reinhold Grah which is a rare maker rating 8 on the McSarr list.
The blade is in great shape and remains bright all over with little wear and the usual runner marks. The motto and maker mark still retain a medium to dark burnish and the maker mark is a thimble enclosed in 2 ovals.
The grip is very nice indeed and is a medium to dark brown with some nice striping in the grain on the reverse. There are no chips or cracks and the eagle and SA roundel are perfect.
The crossguards are solid nickel silver and are issue free with the Gau mark Wf.
The scabbard is the same matching solid nickel silver fittings with all screws present, The scabbard shell is the correct black painted type which appears to be period and has some light scratches and scrapes but no dents. The ball has taken a hard hid with a minor split.
Overall a great early NSKK rated Exc+.
Price £480
Partial Ground Rohm SA by E Pack and Sohn
Here is a nice partially ground Rohm SA dagger by E Pack with hanger.
The blade remains in decent shape and this is where the money is on this piece. The motto is nice and dark as is the Pack maker mark which remains complete (unusual for a Ground Rohm). The Rohm dedication appears to have been removed in the field as I have counted 12 points where the Rohm dedication is still visible. The tip is needle sharp on this piece.
The grip is very nice here and it is quite light with no chips or cracks. The eagle and SA roundel remain fine.
The typical Pack crossguards are solid nickel silver and in fine shape with the Gau mark 'No'.
The scabbard has 2 shallow dents (one on either side). It is a bit strange in that it looks like the anodising has bubbled evenly over the whole surface. I have tried to picture this. The fittings are typical Pack and fine displaying light age. The ball has taken a minor hit. All screws are present and in decent shape.
This piece comes complete with a short hanger in decent shape.
Overall a decent Partial Ground Rohm rated Exc.

RAD Hewer by Carl Eickhorn
This is a good honest unmessed with piece and is a RAD Hewer by Carl Eickhorn.
The blade is in great shape with little wear and has the middle maker mark used by Eickhorn. Both the motto 'Arbeit Adelt' and maker mark still retain quite a dark etch and look great.
The grips are in fantastic shape and are the usual stag horn with a nice contrast of dark and light areas. There are no chips or cracks.
The crossguard and pommel have no issues and the area above the crossguard is stamped 'BR 574'.
The scabbard shell is also fine and has no dents and the black paint remains at about 98%. The scabbard fittings are the plated type and show just small areas of wear. The scabbard throat is again stamped matching the number on the hilt. All screws remain and there is one very minor tap to the bottom fitting.
Overall a great RAD Hewer rated EXC+.
Government Officials Dagger by Carl Eickhorn
This has to be one of the finest daggers I have sold to date. It is a Government Officials Dagger by a rare maker (for these daggers) Carl Eickhorn. The majority of these daggers are produced by Alcoso.
This dagger is from a collector who managed to buy it about 4 years ago from the family of the Vet who brought it back from the war. It was taken from a high ranking official in 1945. It took about a year for the seller to clinch the deal and luckily for us he managed it.
The blade remains in nice shape and exhibits crossgraining on both sides. There are some very minor dark spots here and there mainly around the maker mark , but they are not bad at all. The maker mark is nice and crisp and has a dark etch. The tip is needle sharp and perfect.
The hilt is superb! The grip is mother of pearl over a wooden core. They are in superb shape and look stunning. The eagle head pommel is very nice indeed and being the early Eickhorn variety is all quality with no bubbling or flaking. The hilt is secured to the blade with a small flush nut having 2 holes that is removed using a special tool. There is a small scratch on nut but not bad.
The crossguard has the eagle looking to the left (as you look at it) indicating it is a Government Official as opposed to a Diplomat which has the eagle looking to the right. It is all in solid nickel silver and has nice detail.
The scabbard compliments the dagger very well and is pretty much mint! There is not a mark on it. The scabbard bands are the correct oak leaf design and display excellent detail. The thick throat (typically Eickhorn) is retained by 2 side screws which are both present.
As most of you may know these GO daggers are internally numbered on the various parts. The previous owner on 1 occasion dismantled the dagger and photographed the insides showing the number '33' on the internal parts. I can send a copy of these photos if required.
This is an absolutely stunning piece and would take top spot in most collections.
One for the advanced collector, rated Exc +++.
NSKK Dagger by Pumawerk Just in is this nice late NSKK dagger RZM7/27 Pumawerk (Lauterjung & Sohn) Solingen.
The blade remains nice and bright with minor age. The tip is all original and needle sharp and the motto and maker mark have a light grey etch.
The grip is a stunner with no chips or cracks and has a very nice grain to it. The eagle is the aluminium variety in very nice condition as is the SA roundel.
The crossguards are the correct plated variety and show minor age but not bad.
The scabbard is a beauty and retains 99% of the original black paint and has no issues. The fittings are again the correct plated type and no wear at all. The ball is 100% in tact and all screws are present.
This nice piece is finished off with a nice leather hanger of the correct type (plated) but most of the plating is gone.
Overall a very nice late NSKK dagger rated Exc+.
Complete 2nd Pattern Naval Dagger rig by E & F Horster
Just in is this very nice 2nd pattern Naval Dagger by E&F Horster complete with portapee , hangers and belt.
The blade on the dagger is very nice indeed with a medium to dark etch and is the Fouled Anchor design. The Horster maker mark is the stamped variety within 2 ovals. The tip is needle sharp and the original leather washer is present.
The grip is the usual cream celluloid over wood core and is a beauty with no chips or cracks and nice double twisted wire.
The crossguard and pommel are the correct Horster type and are in stunning condition. Whats nice is that the hilt parts are all serial numbered and they all match.
The scabbard also remains in great shape with just one very minor impression on the reverse but its not bad. The rest is fine and both throat screws remain in great shape.
This dagger comes with an original portapee which is a bit tatty but remains in tact.
This dagger also comes with an original set of aluminium based brass guilt hangers that are in decent shape with just very minor fraying above one of the buckles and some behind one of the buckles. The black felt on the rear is in great shape and the regain chain is all complete. One of the clips has lost its spring but again all complete and all the guilt is nice.
This dagger also comes with an original cotton belt complete with leather fittings and D ring loops where the hangers were attached.
Very nice complete rig this at a great price, rated EXC ++.
Weimar/Early 3rd Reich Shooting Hirschfänger Here we have something out of the normal for me and something that I have sought outside help to confirm its identity and originality. What we have is a Weimar/Early 3rd Reich Shooting Hirschfanger. This piece can only be described as Near Mint throughout and is simply stunning!! The blade is by ACS (Alexander Coppel Solingen) with the scales logo and measures just over 39cm(15 1/2 inches). The total length of the piece is 55cm. There is a red felt buffer pad. The etch is absolutely stunning remaining dark on both sides with no issues and depicts hunting scenes with floral designs and a shooting target. Awesome blade!! The grip appears stag horn in a curved design and has three brass acorns on the obverse. All this again is pretty much mint with no issues. The crossguard is in brass and consists of an animals hooves in an upward and downward direction. There is a grooved clamshell piece suspended from the crossguard on the obverse. Above and below the grip is a brass collar with 5 grooves on the ferrule area and 3 just below the pommel. The pommel consists of an umbrella shape with accent grooves and a small acorn piece covering a small sphere. The scabbard is black leather with two grooves running down the face front and rear and is stitched to the centre on the reverse. The scabbard rates near mint with no tears or wear with just very minor pressure marks near the base. The upper and lower fittings are in brass both held by a single staple with a number under each staple but I cannot make out what they are. These fittings are again pretty much mint with the upper having a small acorn tab to hold the frog. The brass has taken on a nice patina. This piece comes with the correct style leather frog which I have been informed could be a post war copy and so I am describing it as such. It is all in superb shape and has a V shaped notch which sits below the brass acorn on the scabbard. This piece is finished off with a green portapee which I am told is for a subordinate forestry hirschfanger from the Third Reich era. It has a brown inner on the knot and is in fine condition with just minor discoloration part way down. Overall a stunning piece and has to be rated Near Mint. Red Cross Hewer (DRK)
The blade is in nice shape and has cross graining still visible on both sides. There are some minor specks of grey but not so bad. The saw back remains in good shape with no issues. The blade has the usual 'Ges Geschutz' (Pat Pending) on the reverse of the blade behind the crossguard disc. The original leather buffer pad is still present and in tact.
The grip plates are in excellent shape and have no issues. They have the typical chequered pattern on the obverse and smooth on the reverse.
The crossguard and pommel are the usual pot metal with nickel silver plating and pretty much all the plating is left.
The scabbard is in nice shape with about 98% of the original paint remaining. There are some light carry marks on both sides. The fittings are the matching plated type and are fine with just a small patch of pitting on the lower obverse. Both scabbard throat screws are present.
This piece comes with a black leather frog which I do not believe is original to the piece but is of the right type.
Overall a nice DRK rated Exc+.
Red Cross Leader Rig Nice blade with minor marks, no sharpening and tip is fine. It is the typical plain blade with no maker marks is as the case on these daggers. The grip is perfect with no issues, and is a nice lemon colour. Crossguard and pommel are very nice with all plating. Scabbard is nice with virtualy all plating left and a very , very minor ding on the drag. The hangers are in great shape with leather tops created by a great restorer from the States. They are the original hangers with just the tops replaced. Complete with a mint portapee tied in the correct manner. A very nice Red Cross Leaders Rig at a great price .Rated Exc ++.
Army Dagger by Very rare maker KLIHASO (Klitterman and Moog?) with Hangers
If you want an Army dagger that is virtually a 'one off' then this is for you. I am selling it on behalf of a customer and it has been discussed on Germandaggers.com with favourable comments, please see the following link;
The blade is a stunner and has full crossgrain on both sides with virtually no wear. The tip is needle sharp and the mark is KLIHASO which as discussed is believed to be Klitterman and Moog. As you will find this has probably never been seen before and as such could be a 'one off'.
The grip is a cream plastic over plaster core and is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
The crossguard and pommel are the early silver plated brass based examples and are again in fine shape showing nice detail.
The scabbard is a generic example and has a repair to one of the scabbard bands and two very minor dents (mentioned for accuracy). The scabbard throat is retained by a single centre screw which is present.
This dagger comes with a nice set of deluxe hangers that have the scarce aluminium tab tops with the oakleaf effect. There is some wear to the felt on the rear but the rest is fine and the clips work just fine.
Comes complete with a zipped dagger case.
How do you value a dagger like this? Perhaps not the best example Army dagger you will see but in terms of rarity its got to be a great investment for the advanced collector. Rated Exc+
Hitler Youth Knife by Emil Voos
Full blade with little sharpening that has the Blut Und Ehre motto although it is feint . Nice clear maker mark.
Nice grips with diamond showing some staining but all complete .
Crossguard and pommel retain most of the plating with just wear under the snap fastener (early steel base).
Scabbard retains 95% of the paint and no dents. Leather and fastener in nice shape.
Rated Exc ++
Army (Heer) Dagger Rig by P. D. Luneschloss Just in is this very nice Army Dagger by the rare maker P.D. Luneschloss complete with portapee and hangers. The blade is in very nice condition with virtually no wear and and very crisp maker mark. There is still crossgraining on both sides. The grip again is very nice indeed. There are no chips or cracks and it is a yellow solid trolon variety. The pomel and crossguard are in nice condition. The crossguard shows much detail on the eagle and the plating is fine with just minor bubbling on top of the pommel. The scabbard is in great shape with very little wear. Again the scabbard bands show nice detail and there are no scrapes or dents. This dagger comes complete with a set of hangers that are in great condition and all working. Finally this piece is finished off with a portapee that shows slight wear but not bad. Overall a great condition piece by a rare maker. One for the advanced collector. Rated Exc++.
Red Cross Hewer (DRK)
This Red Cross Hewer is just in with the typical unmarked blade with just the Ges Geschutz (Pat Pending) stamped on the blade under the crossguard. This one is produced by P.D. Luneschloss as can be established by the 'pressed' lower scabbard fitting and the letters PDL stamped on the tang under the grips.
The blade is the usual heavy saw tooth edge piece that has the squared off tip (as the Red Cross were not permitted to carry pointed edged weapons). It is in very nice condition with much cross graining and very little signs of wear. The leather buffer pad is still present and in great condition.
The grips are the typical black plastic that are chequered on the obverse and smooth on the reverse. They are in nice condition with no chips or cracks.
The crossguard and pommel are the later plated pot metal variety and have stood the test of time very well. Virtually all the plating remains and are in excellent condition.
The scabbard is also in nice condition and 99% of the black paint remains. It is difficult to tell if it has had an old repaint as there is a small area of uneveness under the paint . That aside it looks really nice. The fittings are the matching plated variety which has worn a little on both fittings.
Overall a really nice DRK rated Exc+.
Red Cross Leader Dagger
The blade is in nice shape. There are 2 small areas of peppering near the hilt but the rest of the blade is really nice with virtually all of the cossgraining remaining. In my experience these Red Cross Leader blades did not hold up too well and its not that often you see them with so much crossgraining left. It is unmarked as is the norm on these daggers.
The grip is a nice deep orange on the obverse and the reverse has a lighter finish to it obviously occurred over time . There are no chips or cracks. Lovely grip !!
The nickel plated crossguard and pommel have stood the test of time very well and there are no issues. The eagle holding the red cross symbol is nice and crisp with no wear. The pommel nut is again in fantastic shape with virtually no wear.
The scabbard is very nice with 99% of the plating left. There are no dents and both screws are present.
Overall a superb Red Cross Leader that are hard to find in this condition. Rated EXC ++.
2nd Model Naval Dagger by WKC This is one of the nicest 2nd model Naval Daggers I have seen to date. It has 100% guilding on the scabbard and nearly the same on the fittings !!
The blade is the fouled anchor etch and is superb. The etching retains its original dark burnish on both sides and the rest of the blade is issue free. The maker mark by WKC with the knights head is clearly stamped. The original red felt waher is present and in good shape.
The grip is a beauty !! It is a light cream colour with the usual wood core. There are no chips, cracks or marks of any kind. The brass twisted wire is in great shape.
The crossguard and pommel are very nice indeed and retain about 95% of the guilding and all the detail is there. The push button release works fine.
The scabbard is a stunner !!! There is a dent on the obverse below the lower scabbard band but othere than that it is as good as you will ever see. The guilding is 100% and looks superb. The scabbard bands retain all their detail are look great. The pattern is the lightening bolt design. Both screws are present and unturned. Stunning scabbard.
Overall a superb Naval Dagger in a condition that is hard to find. Rated Near mint.
The seller of this dagger also has a rare original un-issued celleon (waterproof)naval knot. It was purchased from Detlev Nieman in Germany and on its own is worth quite a bit. He is willing to sell the portapee if purchased with the dagger for £50 or £75 if purchased on its own.
Please note £595 is the price for the dagger alone.
Fire Officials Dress Dagger First one of these that I have had and its a pretty nice piece by Carl Eickhorn.
The blade remains quite bright with areas of greying and the odd spot. It is etched on both sides which remains quite clear. The Eickhorn mark is the early one with the C.E under the squirrel. The original red felt buffer pad is present and in great shape.
The grip is all in tact with black leather with the double twist wire that is fine and tight.
The fittings are the nickel silver variety with nice detail to the pommel and crossguard depicting the firemans helmet and axes.
The scabbard is leather in great shape and has the matching nickel silver fittings with 2 depressions to the lower. The upper has two suspension rings in great shape.
Overall a quite rare dagger that you do not see too often rated Exc.
SA Dagger RZM7/33( F.W. Holler)
If you only want one late RZM SA dagger then I think this would more than fit the bill.
The blade is stunning with full crossgrain on both sides with a nice deep motto and maker mark RZM7/33. The tip is needle sharp and there is no sharpening.
The grip is a very nice example and displays very little wear with no repairs or flakes. The crossguard to grip fit is superb and better than you would see on most early SA daggers. The eagle is a very nice eye catching copper based example and still has traces of the silver wash in the recesses. The SA roundel is perfect showing no wear.
The crossguards are the correct nickel plated variety and although they were prone to flaking from the moisture from the grip, these are in fantastic shape and the plating is 100% in tact.
This piece is finished off with a superb scabbard that is the correct painted variety that is original with only one very minor blemish. The fittings are matching nickel plated and are perfect with no wear. All screws are present and the ball is perfect.
A stunning late SA dagger rated Near Mint.
Teno Leaders Dagger by Eickhorn
Just in is this nice Teno Leaders dagger by the only company that made them , Carl Eickhorn. As you may be aware these daggers are about as rare as they come and not the sort of thing that becomes available very often.
The blade has some scratches and cleaning to it but remains bright with no rust or pitting. The maker mark and Teno mark (eagle clutching the Teno symbol) remain dark and crisp. The serial number on the blade and scabbard are matching although the number 3263 is feint on the blade. It is etched on the obverse of the blade underneath the swastica on the crossguard. The original leather buffer washer is present and in tact.
The grip is superb with no chips or cracks. It is the typical solid trolon and is a medium yellow. Very nice !!
The crossguard and pommel on these Teno Leader daggers have a tendency to become tatty as they were nickel silver plated and usually lose the plating over the years. This one however retains the majority of the plating and dark oxidisation that was applied when made. There is a little plating loss along the outer edge of the pommel but the rest is fine. The definition to both the eagle on the crossguard and cog wheel on the pommel is excellent.
The scabbard remains in great shape with no dents. There is the odd minor spot but not bad. The dark oxidised finish remains pretty good and matches it on the crossguard and pommel. The serial number 3263 is clearly stamped on the scabbard throat.
Here is perhaps a once in a lifetime chance to get your hands on a very rare dagger at a great price. Rated Exc.
Early 1st Pattern Luftwaffe Dagger by Puma Here we have a fantastic early 1st Luft dagger by the maker Puma with solid nickel silver fittings.
The blade is the typical plated variety and is in fantastic condition with just light wear from the runners. About 98% of the plating remains. The tip is in fine shape and the maker mark is nice and clear. The original blue leather washer remains and is fine.
The grip is a beauty in the original blue goat skin that is in fine shape with no tears , nicks or dents. The original wire wrap is all in fine shape.
The crossguard and pommel are again very nice in nickel silver . The sundial swasticas are inlaid in solid brass and remain in great shape with just light wear around them . The underside of the crossguard is stamped 302.
The scabbard has been restored at no expense by the previous owner by an expert in the States (not me this time). The correct piece of original leather has been used and it is a fantastic job and there are no marks or dents. The fittings are the correct matching nickel silver variety and are in great shape with all the screws present. 302 is stamped on the top edge of the scabbard throat.
The chain hanger is all original and is the heavy solid nickel silver variety. It is in great shape and the clip works fine.
This is a quality piece with the restored scabbard and it looks superb. Rated Exc ++
SS EM Dagger by Robert Klaas This has just become available a really nice early SS dagger by the quality producer Robert Klaas. The blade is in great shape remaining bright with lots of crossgraining. The motto and maker mark retain a dark burnish . There are one or two small spots but mainly from the runners. No sharpening and the tip is fine. The grip is a nice example. There is a small repair to the right of the Runes that is hard to see and minor flaking on the obverse near the lower crossguard. Sounds worse than it is. The reverse side of the grip is near perfect! The eagle is a superb nickel silver example and the SS Runes is mint. The crossguards are solid nickel silver and are in great shape with the number 1 roman numeral (District mark) on the reverse. The scabbard is in fantastic shape . It is dent / scratch free and just displays a light age oxidation to the black anodising . Both nickel silver fittings are fine with minor carrying taps to the lower. All screws are present. The dagger to scabbard fit is 'glovelike'. A really nice early SS at a great price, rated Exc+.
2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger by E & F Horster Here is one you don't see every day ! The blade is of the plated variety and remains in nice shape with little wear. It remains bright with a sharp tip and the maker is E&F Horster, Solingen which is one of the rarer makers of 2nd Lufts. The original leather washer is present and in fine shape. The grip is solid trolon and is a nice deep yellow in great shape. There is a chip under the ferrule ring but this is completely invisible when the dagger is together. The grip that you can see is completely chip, hairline and scratch free. It looks stunning!! The original grip wire is all tight and in perfect shape. The crossguard and pommel are of the aluminium variety and are in great shape retaining much detail on the pommel. The crossguard tops have a great oakleaf etch which is perfect. The scabbard is absolutely stunning ! There are no issues at all with it and the throat is retained by a single centre screw which is unturned. This piece is finished off with the correct pommel which is salty but appears to be the original. Overall a great 2nd Luft for the 'Type' collector , one you do not see that often. Rated Exc ++
