DAGGERS FOR SALE
Army (Heer) Dagger by WMW Just in is this very nice Army Officers Dagger by the rare maker WMW. The maker was Max Weyersberg and was a small ‘cottage’ maker. The blade is a real beauty. There is cross graining to the tip on both sides with 1 or 2 very light smudges. The tip is perfect and the rare maker mark of WMW is stamped on the reverse. The grip is a very nice off white celluloid over plaster core which we see in the later pieces. It is in perfect condition with no chips or cracks. The cross guard and pommel are generic examples as this company did not make their own ‘in house’ fittings. The cross guard is a generic type A. Both pommel and cross guard are in perfect condition with much detail. The scabbard is also in great shape. Nice patina with some minor age spots near the tip but all looks great with a scabbard throat retained by a single centre screw on the reverse. There are no dents or scratches. Overall a very nice rare maker marked Army dagger rated Exc ++. Price £380
2nd Pattern Luftwaffe Dagger by Gustav Spitzer Just in is this nice 2nd Patter Luftwaffe Dagger by the less common maker of C. Gustav Spitzer, Solingen. The blade remains in great shape and retains much crossgrain on both sides with a nice tip. There are some minor imperfections on the centre section that have been caused by the scabbard runners but not bad at all. No other greying or issues. The grip is the cream celluloid over plaster core which is commonly seen in later pieces. The grip is in great shape with evidence of a side seam which we see in these later grips. It is completed with double twisted brass wire which is nice with no problems. The crossguard and pommel are both in great shape showing much detail and no issues. The scabbard finishes this piece off very well and has no dents and retains the nice dark factory finish. The throat is retained by 2 side dome head screws which are present. Overall a very nice uncommon maker marked 2nd Patern Luft , Rated Exc ++. Price £395
DAGGERS ON HOLD
Early NSKK by Curt Hoppe, Solingen
I removed this dagger from sale recently pending it being researched as being a possible Early SA Marine Dagger.
As there as been insufficient evidence and perhaps simply a case of nobody know's, I am relisting again at the same price. Early NSKK Dagger by Curt Hoppe, Solingen This is a very interesting early dagger by the rare maker Curt Hoppe, Solingen. I have recently carried out some research on this dagger to see if it is possibly an Early SA Marine . There is no cast iron evidence on these daggers and although it displays the typical characteristics of an early SA Marine dagger I am listing it as an early NSKK. The blade remains bright on both sides with some areas of greying on both sides. There are also areas of crossgrain visible along the length. The motto and maker mark still retain quite a dark etch which looks great. The grip is a very interesting example in that it is a mahogany base with a black outer which looks to have been period applied as can be seen sometimes on Marine SA daggers. The black remains on the majority of the grip with the mahogany showing through near the crossguards on both sides. There are some minor hairlines running from the grip edge but not bad at all and everything is solid with no chips or repairs. The SA roundel and eagle are expertly set as we often see on these early pieces. The crossguards are solid nickel silver with the Gau mark Ha. The scabbard is a nice example and is the more uncommon black anodised finish (as seen on SS daggers) with possibly the lacquer touched up at some point. There are a couple of very minor taps on the centre obverse area which are mentioned for accuracy. The fittings are solid nickel silver with the lower showing period carrying marks on the reverse. All screws are present. This piece also comes with a very nice early leather short hanger which is missing the clip. Overall a really nice early dagger displaying SA Marine characteristics. A rare to see piece , rated Exc+. Price £430 Early NSKK Dagger by Christianswerk, Solingen
The blade is very nice with hardly any wear. The is some crossgraining remaining on both sides and the motto and maker mark still retain a medium grey etch.
The grip is a very nice mahogany colour that is nice and vibrant. There are no chips and only one scratch to the bottom right of the eagle. The nickel silver eagle and SA roundel are nicely set with just a bit of wear to the eagles head.
The crossguards are in fine shape , being nickel silver and have the Gau mark 'Nm'.
The scabbard is in great shape. The original paint at about 99% with one very minor impression on the reverse half way down but only seen when holding it up to the light. The fittings are solid nickel silver in great shape with a minor hit to the ball. All screws present.
This piece also comes with a nice early brown hanger is excellent condition.
A very nice early NSKK rated Exc ++.
Price £475

The blade is very nice indeed with lots of crossgrain on both sides and little age. The motto and maker mark still remain dark and looks great.
The grip is a real beauty. It is a medium mohagany example with no chips or cracks. The eagle and SA roundel are fine.
The scabbard is in decent shape with no dents. The black paint is wearing thin in areas , mainly on the obverse. The fittings are the correct nickel silver and are in great shape with just minor carry marks on the lower fitting . All screws are present.
Overall a really nice early NSKK dagger from a rare maker. Rated Exc ++

Very Rare Full Army Rig by Fridericus
I have for sale a very rare Army Dagger by Fridericus. It came direct from the Grandson of the WW2 vet who acquired it .
The blade is really nice with loads of crossgrain with 1 or 2 minor smudges , the biggest being at the side of the maker name.Overall a great blade.
The grip is a nice cream celluloid with plaster core with no chips or cracks.
The fittings are the generic type A which were used by this firm and are the early heavy heavily silvered variety.
The scabbard is also a generic type and is in great shape with no dents and just some minor age spots.
This dagger comes with a nice set of hangers and a portapee which remain in great shape.
This is a very rare piece rated Exc ++.
Early SS EM33 by Boker This is just in and is a nice early SS by the quality maker Boker.
The blade remains full length and bright and has had a clean at some point. This has led to the high point of the motto being faded as has part of the Boker maker mark on the reverse. The motto appears blotchy which looks like remains of the dark burnish on the letters remaining in some parts and not in others. Still remains a decent blade though with just some scratching which looks worse in the pictures. The tang has the marking usually seen which is a vertical line with arrow at each end.
The grip is really nice. All complete with no chips and the crossguard to grip fit is superb as we expect from this firm. If you very closely there are a couple of hairlines running from the bottom crossguard on the obverse and one from the top crossguard on the reverse. These are mentioned for accuracy and really are minor. The eagle and SS runes are in great shape.
The crossguards are the usual solid nickel silver and are fine with no issues. The lower fitting is stamped with the Roman Numeral 'I' on the reverse. They are internally marked 'H' which was one of the makers used by Boker.
The scabbard is in great shape and appears to have the period repaint which we sometimes see on these early pieces. The paint is excellent and remains about 98% with a little of the shine gone on the reverse near the lower fitting which I would suggest is from period wear (just the shine gone not the paint). The fittings are solid nickel silver and are again in great shape with just a small hit to the ball.
This piece comes complete with a short black hanger which has some age but not bad at all.
A very nice early SS EM33 at an attractive price.
RAD Hewer by Carl Eickhorn
This is a good honest unmessed with piece and is a RAD Hewer by Carl Eickhorn.
The blade is in great shape with little wear and has the middle maker mark used by Eickhorn. Both the motto 'Arbeit Adelt' and maker mark still retain quite a dark etch and look great.
The grips are in fantastic shape and are the usual stag horn with a nice contrast of dark and light areas. There are no chips or cracks.
The crossguard and pommel have no issues and the area above the crossguard is stamped 'BR 574'.
The scabbard shell is also fine and has no dents and the black paint remains at about 98%. The scabbard fittings are the plated type and show just small areas of wear. The scabbard throat is again stamped matching the number on the hilt. All screws remain and there is one very minor tap to the bottom fitting.
Overall a great RAD Hewer rated EXC+.
Early SA Dagger by Jos Schlimbach
This is a rare piece and is rated 10 on the McSarr list (10 being the rarest).
The blade remains bright overall with one or two dark spots but not bad. The motto has lost most of its dark burnish which is still presentable and there is one minor 'nick' on the obverse under the letter A of 'Alles'. It is more of a small pitted spot rather than an edge nick. The maker mark Jos Schlimbach, Solingen is nice and clear on the reverse.
The grip is an absolute beauty!! I see it many times where these exceptionally rare daggers have beautiful grips and this one is no exception. It is very dark and has no chips or cracks. The nickel silver eagle and SA roundel are superb.
The crossguards are solid nickel silver and are very nice with the Gau mark 'No'.
The scabbard is in great shape and all the brown anodising remains. The fittings are again solid nickel silver with no issues and all screws present.
This piece also comes with a very nice short leather hanger with solid nickel silver fittings.
SA's do not come any rarer than this . Rated Exc+
Army (Heer) Officers Rig with Galalith Grip
This is a stunning piece just in with a rare Galalith Grip.
The blade is a stunner with crossgrain on both sides. It is the plain no maker variety and is very nice indeed.
The grip as stated is the rare Galalith variety that was a milk based product used for a short time during the Nazi period. It is in perfect condition with no issues and remains very white.
The crossguard is the generic type A and is in great shape with much detail evident. The same can be said about the pommel.
The scabbard is superb with full plating and no issues. The throat is retained by a single side screw that is in place.
The hangers with this piece are absolutely mint. They are the rare metal tab top variety that have oak leaf etch and are DRGM stamped. The green felt on the rear is 100%.
This dagger also comes with a correct length portapee tied in the correct manner and in fine shape.
This Rig also comes in a padded carry case with zip.
Overall a stunning rare Galalith grip Army Rig that is a must for the Advanced Army Dagger Collector. Rated Near mint.
Government Officials Dagger by Carl Eickhorn
This has to be one of the finest daggers I have sold to date. It is a Government Officials Dagger by a rare maker (for these daggers) Carl Eickhorn. The majority of these daggers are produced by Alcoso.
This dagger is from a collector who managed to buy it about 4 years ago from the family of the Vet who brought it back from the war. It was taken from a high ranking official in 1945. It took about a year for the seller to clinch the deal and luckily for us he managed it.
The blade remains in nice shape and exhibits crossgraining on both sides. There are some very minor dark spots here and there mainly around the maker mark , but they are not bad at all. The maker mark is nice and crisp and has a dark etch. The tip is needle sharp and perfect.
The hilt is superb! The grip is mother of pearl over a wooden core. They are in superb shape and look stunning. The eagle head pommel is very nice indeed and being the early Eickhorn variety is all quality with no bubbling or flaking. The hilt is secured to the blade with a small flush nut having 2 holes that is removed using a special tool. There is a small scratch on nut but not bad.
The crossguard has the eagle looking to the left (as you look at it) indicating it is a Government Official as opposed to a Diplomat which has the eagle looking to the right. It is all in solid nickel silver and has nice detail.
The scabbard compliments the dagger very well and is pretty much mint! There is not a mark on it. The scabbard bands are the correct oak leaf design and display excellent detail. The thick throat (typically Eickhorn) is retained by 2 side screws which are both present.
As most of you may know these GO daggers are internally numbered on the various parts. The previous owner on 1 occasion dismantled the dagger and photographed the insides showing the number '33' on the internal parts. I can send a copy of these photos if required.
This is an absolutely stunning piece and would take top spot in most collections.
One for the advanced collector, rated Exc +++.
Complete 2nd Pattern Naval Dagger rig by E & F Horster
Just in is this very nice 2nd pattern Naval Dagger by E&F Horster complete with portapee , hangers and belt.
The blade on the dagger is very nice indeed with a medium to dark etch and is the Fouled Anchor design. The Horster maker mark is the stamped variety within 2 ovals. The tip is needle sharp and the original leather washer is present.
The grip is the usual cream celluloid over wood core and is a beauty with no chips or cracks and nice double twisted wire.
The crossguard and pommel are the correct Horster type and are in stunning condition. Whats nice is that the hilt parts are all serial numbered and they all match.
The scabbard also remains in great shape with just one very minor impression on the reverse but its not bad. The rest is fine and both throat screws remain in great shape.
This dagger comes with an original portapee which is a bit tatty but remains in tact.
This dagger also comes with an original set of aluminium based brass guilt hangers that are in decent shape with just very minor fraying above one of the buckles and some behind one of the buckles. The black felt on the rear is in great shape and the regain chain is all complete. One of the clips has lost its spring but again all complete and all the guilt is nice.
This dagger also comes with an original cotton belt complete with leather fittings and D ring loops where the hangers were attached.
Very nice complete rig this at a great price, rated EXC ++.
Red Cross Hewer (DRK)
The blade is in nice shape and has cross graining still visible on both sides. There are some minor specks of grey but not so bad. The saw back remains in good shape with no issues. The blade has the usual 'Ges Geschutz' (Pat Pending) on the reverse of the blade behind the crossguard disc. The original leather buffer pad is still present and in tact.
The grip plates are in excellent shape and have no issues. They have the typical chequered pattern on the obverse and smooth on the reverse.
The crossguard and pommel are the usual pot metal with nickel silver plating and pretty much all the plating is left.
The scabbard is in nice shape with about 98% of the original paint remaining. There are some light carry marks on both sides. The fittings are the matching plated type and are fine with just a small patch of pitting on the lower obverse. Both scabbard throat screws are present.
This piece comes with a black leather frog which I do not believe is original to the piece but is of the right type.
Overall a nice DRK rated Exc+.
Red Cross Leader Rig Nice blade with minor marks, no sharpening and tip is fine. It is the typical plain blade with no maker marks is as the case on these daggers. The grip is perfect with no issues, and is a nice lemon colour. Crossguard and pommel are very nice with all plating. Scabbard is nice with virtualy all plating left and a very , very minor ding on the drag. The hangers are in great shape with leather tops created by a great restorer from the States. They are the original hangers with just the tops replaced. Complete with a mint portapee tied in the correct manner. A very nice Red Cross Leaders Rig at a great price .Rated Exc ++.
Hitler Youth Knife by Emil Voos
Full blade with little sharpening that has the Blut Und Ehre motto although it is feint . Nice clear maker mark.
Nice grips with diamond showing some staining but all complete .
Crossguard and pommel retain most of the plating with just wear under the snap fastener (early steel base).
Scabbard retains 95% of the paint and no dents. Leather and fastener in nice shape.
Rated Exc ++
Teno Leaders Dagger by Eickhorn
Just in is this nice Teno Leaders dagger by the only company that made them , Carl Eickhorn. As you may be aware these daggers are about as rare as they come and not the sort of thing that becomes available very often.
The blade has some scratches and cleaning to it but remains bright with no rust or pitting. The maker mark and Teno mark (eagle clutching the Teno symbol) remain dark and crisp. The serial number on the blade and scabbard are matching although the number 3263 is feint on the blade. It is etched on the obverse of the blade underneath the swastica on the crossguard. The original leather buffer washer is present and in tact.
The grip is superb with no chips or cracks. It is the typical solid trolon and is a medium yellow. Very nice !!
The crossguard and pommel on these Teno Leader daggers have a tendency to become tatty as they were nickel silver plated and usually lose the plating over the years. This one however retains the majority of the plating and dark oxidisation that was applied when made. There is a little plating loss along the outer edge of the pommel but the rest is fine. The definition to both the eagle on the crossguard and cog wheel on the pommel is excellent.
The scabbard remains in great shape with no dents. There is the odd minor spot but not bad. The dark oxidised finish remains pretty good and matches it on the crossguard and pommel. The serial number 3263 is clearly stamped on the scabbard throat.
Here is perhaps a once in a lifetime chance to get your hands on a very rare dagger at a great price. Rated Exc.
Early 1st Pattern Luftwaffe Dagger by Puma Here we have a fantastic early 1st Luft dagger by the maker Puma with solid nickel silver fittings.
The blade is the typical plated variety and is in fantastic condition with just light wear from the runners. About 98% of the plating remains. The tip is in fine shape and the maker mark is nice and clear. The original blue leather washer remains and is fine.
The grip is a beauty in the original blue goat skin that is in fine shape with no tears , nicks or dents. The original wire wrap is all in fine shape.
The crossguard and pommel are again very nice in nickel silver . The sundial swasticas are inlaid in solid brass and remain in great shape with just light wear around them . The underside of the crossguard is stamped 302.
The scabbard has been restored at no expense by the previous owner by an expert in the States (not me this time). The correct piece of original leather has been used and it is a fantastic job and there are no marks or dents. The fittings are the correct matching nickel silver variety and are in great shape with all the screws present. 302 is stamped on the top edge of the scabbard throat.
The chain hanger is all original and is the heavy solid nickel silver variety. It is in great shape and the clip works fine.
This is a quality piece with the restored scabbard and it looks superb. Rated Exc ++
SS EM Dagger by Robert Klaas This has just become available a really nice early SS dagger by the quality producer Robert Klaas. The blade is in great shape remaining bright with lots of crossgraining. The motto and maker mark retain a dark burnish . There are one or two small spots but mainly from the runners. No sharpening and the tip is fine. The grip is a nice example. There is a small repair to the right of the Runes that is hard to see and minor flaking on the obverse near the lower crossguard. Sounds worse than it is. The reverse side of the grip is near perfect! The eagle is a superb nickel silver example and the SS Runes is mint. The crossguards are solid nickel silver and are in great shape with the number 1 roman numeral (District mark) on the reverse. The scabbard is in fantastic shape . It is dent / scratch free and just displays a light age oxidation to the black anodising . Both nickel silver fittings are fine with minor carrying taps to the lower. All screws are present. The dagger to scabbard fit is 'glovelike'. A really nice early SS at a great price, rated Exc+.
